Our Speakers

Dr. Marc Friend

Dr. Mark Friend holds degrees in Medical Science (Physiology) and Dental Surgery from the University of Dundee. He spent nearly 20 years as a dentist in the Royal Air Force and British Army, working across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

After leaving the military in 2018, he became a General Dental Practitioner in Northern Ireland, focusing on restorative and alignment work.

Dr. Friend completed Postgraduate Certificates in Restorative Dentistry (2019) and Primary Care Orthodontics (2021), specializing in fixed and clear aligner therapies. He joined Modern Dental Europe in December
2024, supporting the SCD UK/ROI TrioClear range and developing educational events. Having grown up helping in his father’s prosthetic lab, Dr. Friend remains passionate about clinical support and bridging laboratory solutions with dental practice.

Roeland De Paepe CDT

Roeland started his dental career at the KULeuven dental lab, in 1993.

Between 2000 and 2006 he worked as “Technical and Training Manager” for GC EUROPE and became a frequently asked speaker in more than 50 countries.

From 2006 he led his own lab and remained a freelance trainer and KOL for GC.

In 2018 he joined GC as Product Manager.

Since February 2020, Roeland is on board at Modern Dental Europe as Head of PM, responsible for the product portfolio and the implementation of new solutions.
